We are pleased and proud that since inception, 60 West has consistently been rated a Four or Five Star facility overall and for quality measures, as granted by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). 60 West has also been the recipient of a US News and World Report Best Nursing Home recognition for 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 and an American Health Care Association (AHCA) Silver Quality Award. On April 30, 2024, the team at Silver Springs Care Center held a retirement celebration for Carmen Mallet, a Cook in the Food Service department, who retired from Silver Springs after 42 years of service. Carmen worked as a first shift Cook in the center since the days that Silver Springs was known as Royal Crest, with a start in March of 1982!

A graduate of Western Governors University, Emily has eight years of nursing experience as an RN, primarily in long term care facilities due to her love for the geriatric population. She started her nursing career in Massachusetts until moving to Connecticut in 2020 where she found her nursing niche for infection control and wound care at her previous organization.

Francis Lijadu and Mirja Tupas Join iCare, Leading Heart Failure Program and Complex Care

iCare Health Network is pleased to announce that Francis Lijadu and Mirja Tupas have joined the iCare clinical team. My goal as President is to continue to grow the college and provide assistance and guidance for those that are just beginning their careers. Our partnership with the CAHCF and Leading Age will help to strengthen our Chapter and provide those resources to all Health Care Leaders. Our board has worked diligently on bringing new initiatives to the college and I am excited to see them come to fruition.
